Shannon came to me spring 2003

When I bought her, she didn't have a name. She was known as "the grey mare", or sometimes "Jelly", which is not a fitting name for a future champion!

My friend Brigid suggested an Irish-sounding name because that would match my other two, Nora and Quinn. So Shannon it was.
Shannon's background is unknown, but she is estimated to be 7 years old and has clearly not been handled much. She was headshy and a little nervous until we got her started on clicker training, which she loved!

She is very eager to please, and if she doesn't understand what I want her to do, she gets very upset. When she DOES understand, she is beaming with pride!

After practising saddling, bridling and general handling for a long time, I finally got on her back the first time this summer, and she is doing great under saddle so far.

Hello, is this my new home?
She was pretty nervous when the trailer parked.
But when she came out and saw the other horses,
she decided this would be an OK place after all.

Hello Quinn. I have been lonely for a while.
Can I be your friend? Please?

Quinn was the perfect gentleman for quite a while,
but in the end she got a little too clingy and
loving and he politely told her to back off!

Feelin' good!
Judging from the speed, she might me a thoroughbred, yes!
